Ayurveda
Ayurveda is a comprehensive, holistic healing science from India that has been practiced for over 5,000 years. The sister science of yoga, Ayurveda provides practical and accessible guidance for how to live a healthier life through attention to our daily habits. Due to its integration of mind, body and spirit, Ayurveda is uniquely well suited to address chronic, multifaceted health challenges.
As we go through our busy lives, we are constantly taking in impressions via our five senses. These impressions or qualities either create harmony and balance or lead to greater disharmony and imbalance. Ayurveda teaches that each person has a unique mind-body constitution that determines what creates health for him or her and what leads to disease.
When we are able to identify what qualities are contributing to disharmony for our own unique mind-body constitution, we can begin to incorporate more of the opposing qualities into our diet and lifestyle practices to restore balance to our system. In doing so, we create the conditions for the body’s natural healing capacity to flourish.
